New Iron-Version: 4.0.227 Beta
New Iron-Version: 4.0.227 Beta
Based on Chromium 4.0 we released a new Iron-Version.
New is a speed gain up to 30% and support for Bookmark-Synchronisation.
Additionally the Extension-System was improved, there is now a user-friendly control interface and you become warnings for potential harmful plugins.
Also the Windows 7 support is better in this versions: Aero Peek doesn't work yet, but the integration in the new start menu is already done.
Please notice:
This is a beta version - it's probably not as stable as the currently "official" version.

Re: New Iron-Version: 4.0.227 Beta
Hi!
I am a user of IRON for long time and this is my preferred browser. I like its speed. But last version is more slow than 3.0189 and 3.0197 versions. May it be fixed in stable version?
Link below is to my tests.

Thanks,

Re: New Iron-Version: 4.0.227 Beta
Hi,
So far so good. Iron 4.0 is faster than 3.0, at least according to my tests.
btw, ad blocker does work, however you have to update AdBlock.ini manually;

ok,just tried this beta version, looks good,my setup is xp-pro-sp3,using privoxy for ad-blocking=works good,,,
guys don't forget to check "use dns prefething for improve page load performance"..very fast too.
now still the bookmarks http://www.srware.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=687
the bookmarks imported from IE.[IE8 only right?] should be at the "STAR ICON"--LIKE IE8" here we need to add another line to browse our favorities sites...and "it doesn't look good""looks outdated"
-does it only import bookmarks fom IE8?..what about firefox, etc?
-why in options "under the hood"--USE SSL-2.0 and CHECK FOR SERVER CERTIFICATE REVOCATION is uncheck by default?
i know you guys are doing a great effort and thanks for it..

I ran the Sunspider benchmarkiron_man wrote:Hi,

4.0:
1514.4ms +/- 3.7%
3.0:
882.4ms (+/- 7,4%)
JavaScript - nearly two times slower.
(Still faster than Firefox, though - 2070.2 ms).
Hang on, so do I get it right - every time I see one of these annoying flash commercials (I did download your adblock.ini file, but they still appear on the websites I visit), all I have to do is right-click on the flash ad, copy its address, open adblock.ini, paste the address, save the file and (after the browser is restarted of course) - voila!iron_man wrote:btw, ad blocker does work, however you have to update AdBlock.ini manually;Code: Select all

That sounds very 2009

Man it's really annoying... I support the cause, but... v.3.0 couldn't get the bookmarks bar right (I complained about it in another thread), now I upgraded v4.0 happy to discover the bug does not exist - bang, the adblocker is gone.

Re: New Iron-Version: 4.0.227 Beta
I cannot set it as default browser. I use Windows 7 Ultimate X86.
The Iron it does not appears in the windows list of installed programs/browsers and inside the browser i can see that:
Srware cannot determine or set the default browser.
So any ideas how to set it as default to open links from other programs ?
