Leider kann ich auch in der Version 83 WA über die Adresse web.WhatsApp.com nicht aufrufen. Ich erhalte die Fehlermeldung: "WhatsApp funktioniert mit Google Chrome 49+". Fiefox und Edge machen keine Probleme.

Solution to Web.whatsapp.com not working under Iron version Version 84.0.4300.0 (Official Build) (64-bit)

1. Go to chrome web store (more tools, extensions, click top left and open chrome webstore)
2. Search for "user agent switcher"and select the one made by google

3. Install the extension and right-click it. Select options.
4. In the "custom user agent list" add a "new user agent name"
Use the following user-agent string:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/85.0.4183.121 Safari/537.36
and name it "Chrome 85"

5. Select the extension, first select "chrome", then "chrome 85"

6. Go back to the tab containing web.whatsapp.com and hit F5 (reload)

Proceed normally.
