Before play the smartImage you should had pay more attention to what I wrote before; anyway, I've found my answer but did forget to proplery report back.

i've a permission problem, iron cant save my prefs..what i must to do (ubuntu 10.04) ?

Using in Ubuntu 10.04, the new version, Iron 7, returns me "Illegal instruction" from the cmdline. Some idea?

Been way too long since I dabbled in Linux. I downloaded the latest version and untarred it, but when I click on it, single or double click, it won't run. I'm running Kubuntu 9.10.

I think at some point Iron min requirement became Ubuntu 10.04+

Yeah, this is because the latest version of Iron has been compiled against glibc 2.11, while the latest available for Ubuntu 9.10 is 2.10.
Not sure if Iron actually requires any features of 2.11 - if not, would be nice if someone compiled it against 2.10...
