Re: New Iron-Version: 9.0.600.0 Stable for Windows
I turned my back on CCleaner a long time ago, so I don't know how good it is now.
For uninstalling, I recommend RevoUninstaller. Advanced Uninstall the program and report back.
Also, try to get ownership of the file, maybe it somehow assigned itself to another account/sub-account. Things like these happen sometimes.

Re: New Iron-Version: 9.0.600.0 Stable for Windows
As you might already know, the piece of code you mentioned is integrated in iron.dll. If you want a release, you may do it yourself: download and install ResHacker, load the DLL, change the values, save the DLL with the new values and replace the original DLL. However, there are other places where one should modify in order to get the 12 thumbnails.Sekirah wrote:Just change the value in var rows from 2 to 3 and that should be it! Please make this change and release an alternate version for those of us who want this feature. Thanks!
I have dumped as text the resource containing the function Sekirah mentioned (BINDATA, 521, 0 in ResHacker). The proposed change may be found at line #3835. Unfortunately, as you said, that's not the only place where one should modify. I have spotted 4 other places:Scream81 wrote:But I can't find the place where the number ob thumbs is defined... If I change it in the iron.dll to 3 cols and 3 rows, there are still only 8 thumbs
- line #3824, function createThumbnails_: 8 becomes 12
- line #3826, function createThumbnails_: 8 becomes 12
- line #3868, function applyMostVisitedRects_: 8 becomes 12
- line #4099, function data: 8 becomes 12
Re: New Iron-Version: 9.0.600.0 Stable for Windows
I've just been playing around with iron.dll and did all the changes I could think of.
I now have 12 fields displayed on newtab page, however, only the first 8 are actual thumbs, while the 3rd row I've added only has the grey background displayed.
New thumbs still cannot be added, but I've made room for them
Ty all for the assistance so far.
Since I'm at a loss what to do next, I was wandering if some1 could upload the old 7.0.520 portable version somewhere.
If I had the old iron.dll version, maybe I could spot some differences and figure out what needs to be changed next in order to have 12 thumbs on the newest browser version (and could possibly make the changes to future updates as well)

Hear is a page for version 7.0.520.1...i don't know if it's any use to you, but hopefully it is. Also, i take by the silence i'm getting, The "enable cookie prompt" option is gone in version 9? It works in this version, but i forgot to try it in the new version, and it's a pain getting everything uninstalled properly to re-install version 7.Sekirah wrote: Since I'm at a loss what to do next, I was wandering if some1 could upload the old 7.0.520 portable version somewhere.

Also, now we have to enable cookies to visit this site? I never had to do that before.

Now i just signed in w/o having to enable cookies. I was presented a graph with characters to fill out to log if i didn't enable cookies... weird. So again, does version 9 have the enable cookie option? Sorry to be so persistant, but i would like an answer, please.
And no, messing with the cookie icon doesn't cut it for me. I prefer the "ask me" option.
