We released the new Iron 71 today, which contains all features and updates known from Chromium 71. The current version is 71.0.3700.0

Main improvements:

PDF viewer does not work in the new portable64 version!

Frame and icons are bigger and occupy more spaces in this new version. Is there a way to get it smaller or same size as v70?

I most definitely would ask if the old UI layout options from version 70 and older could be made available as the new tabs are presented in a less pleasing (subjective) and less space-efficient (objective) manner. The current v71 only provides 3 options, namely Refresh, Touchable Refresh and Dynamically Refresh, all UI options geared towards touch-enabled devices, which has very little use for conventional desktop users. This wouldn't be so much of an issue if the original options would still be there, even if not set as default, but the lack of the Normal option is sorely missed and from what I've read around, it seems a few Chromium-based browsers haven't followed the Chrome route of removing these options.

The original settings were as follows:
- Normal - for clamshell devices
- Hybrid (previously touch) middle point for devices with a touch screen
- Auto, unclear, likely automatic selection.
- Touchable - new unified interface for touch and convertibles (Chrome OS)
- Material Design refresh
- Touchable Material Design refresh

PDF viewing is broken in 71, none of the embedded PDFs I've tried are displayed.

The issue with displaying pdf files inside iron seems to be related to the NewTabWithoutSearch replacement resources.pak

If you are using the newtabwithoutsearch function, reverting to the resources.pak that is installed by default fixes the pdf display issue.

Not here the pdf cannot be displayed also using the original resources.pak
