Speech recognition not working???

I am using the latest Iron version downloaded yesterday (8/30/14), i am learning italian and i need voice recognition at a point in the program but i can't go any further in it because when i try and use speech recognition it works for a brief second then stops. Its not enough time for me to even say one word. ANY HELP????

Also have same problem. In Search and Google Translate voice input. Asked in ru section more than year ago - no answers. Anyone solve it already?!
