Re: New Iron-Version: 16.0.950.0 Stable for MacOS
Thanks a lot for the update! I only have one suggestion:
PLEASE optimize the new tab-site.... so much valuable space is lost atm....

Re: New Iron-Version: 16.0.950.0 Stable for MacOS
hi sukid
i dont see why this hell of a nitpick. maybe u are browsing on a 40 inch monitor, then yeah-- its a nitpick. but im on a Mac Book air, 13", and here two-thirds of my browsing space is lost to either nothing or things I dont need, and in the remaining 1/3rd the thumbnails are resized so much that they are hardly of help. If you work and browse simultaneously, you need the browser on the one side and another application on the other side... and thats when the problem occurs. - And its not necessary that it occurs.
I prepared a mockup, just to demonstrate what i mean. Here how the new-tab-page looks now;

A lot of valuable space is lost, icons are re-dimensioned, you need to scroll, and the "Recently Closed" Button is somewhere one would not expect it to be.
Here is how it COULD look like:

Note: its the same window-size as before! But now, more thumbnails in greater quality/size are displayed! No need to scroll anymore, and the Recently Closed Button is where one expects it to be! Imagine you Click on Recently closed, and what opens is a thumbnail preview for the recently closed tabs!! Hell, thats what i call an improvement!
Admins, please dont get me wrong. I appreciate your work a lot, and all I am trying to do is to point out things that could eventually be improved. I do not know, however, if you even CAN do this, or if this is something that would have to be implemented by google. (I am no technician.... sorry). However, I would be interested to hear your opinion about my suggestion.
Cheers,
Testifix

Re: New Iron-Version: 16.0.950.0 Stable for MacOS
why do you think its not good for small screens? i am using a 13" MacBook Air - and exactly here my suggestion would make sense, because the amount of space that is wasted for white areas is better used. or how many inch must a laptop in your opinion have to qualify for a "small" screen?

The MacOSX version is the most viewed page, but always the last one to be updated...
Can't wait to get the 17 version. Cheers.
