Meta has to pay a high penalty

A 50-year-old law is now expensive for the Facebook group Meta. This law stipulates that all campaign finances are to be published. The law states that information about people who book political advertising can be viewed publicly. The Attorney General Bob Ferguson accuses Meta of violating this law several times since the end of 2018.

The court finally decided that Meta did not comply with the regulations in 822 cases. In addition, the presiding judge decided that the group had acted deliberately. This could tripled the punishment. The punishment for each individual case is $ 30,000, which results in the proud sum of $ 24.66 million.

This case is only the last of a whole series in which Meta is said to have violated relevant regulations.
