VW ID.4 electric car - now the EPA range is also known
The VW ID.4 has a 150kw engine and can thus accelerate the car from a standstill to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The battery has 77 kW net capacity and can be charged from 5 to 80% in 40 minutes.
But how far can you get with the vehicle? VW has now announced this. Here you have to know that the test cycle known as WLTP in Europe is less stringent than in the US and thus produces more range. According to WLTP, the ID.4 manages 508 to 522 kilometers. With EPA from the U.S., the range is 260 miles, or just 420 kilometers.
That is still very decent and not bad even compared to the competition, but still quite a bit less than the WLTP value. For comparison: The EPA range of a current Tesla Model 3 is between 354km and 538km (Standard Range / Long Range model).
