Browser keeps disconnecting from internet

I am new to Iron and feel a setting must be wrong but cannot figure it out. Desktop Vista 64. I open Iron and when working in gmail or on facebook after a couple of minutes browser is no longer connected to internet but nothing is wrong with the router. If I open a new tab or refresh the page it connects but then disconnects again after a couple of minutes. I do not have this problem in Firefox or IE. No error code comes up - just gmail shows msg that it is trying to reconnect & fb says comments weren't posted try again....
