Windows 10 went completely belly up on me and decided to stop working (long story- Windows 10 update & Office software incompatiability). Was able to reinstall Windows & save my files, however I cannot find my Iron bookmarks.
On my desktop, a new shortcut was created called "Iron Config and Backup" - tried all the tabs and nothing works. One of the tabs says "Import from Chrome", however it says it will override Iron. I had alot of bookmarks saved on Iron, nothing on Chrome.
Looking through my program files, I find SRWare Iron (64-Bit), I see the same Iron_Backup_Config application, as on my desktop. I tried clicking other files etc, but nothing seems to lead to any action suggestive of restoring my bookmarks.
Could it be somewhere else? Surely they must be saved?
Lost all Iron Bookmarks in Windows 10 after Windows re-install
Re: Lost all Iron Bookmarks in Windows 10 after Windows re-install
Try going to C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\Chromium\User Data\Default and look for the file Bookmarks. It probably won't have a file extension, just try opening it in a text editor (I used Notepad++ and it worked fine). I don't have Chrome installed so being Iron is based on Chromium this 'should' be the file.
Good luck!
