Under Windows Vista, I want to use Iron to handle the http, https and FTP protocols but the Iron choice does not appear in "Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program". The only two choices are Firefox and Opera.

Microsoft says: In order to appear in Set Program Access and Computer Defaults, programs must be registered in the Windows registry. Typically, programs register themselves during installation. If your program does not appear in the list, it has not been registered and cannot be set as the default program using Set Program Access and Computer Defaults. How do I "register" Iron so I can use it to handle the protocols? Thank you.

Both posted in the past month, and should appear on the list in this forum page.

Problem solved. As suggested in those articles, the solution involved launching Iron as Administrator.

1. Right-click the SRWare Iron shortcut icon and select "Run as Administrator".
2. Click the Wrench icon and select "Options".
3. Click "Make SRWare Iron my default browser".

This changed the .htm and .html file associations to SRWare Iron. It also changed the FTP, HTTP and HTTPS protocols.
