Iron plans for side tabs

Perhaps you know that when Chrome auto-updated to version 16 they destroyed the side tabs capability with no warning, no alternative, and no plans to replace it. Much to the anger and anguish of many users. I'm now user Firefox with the Tree Tabs extension and Iron version 13+.
I wonder what plans Iron developers have with regard to side tabs?
