I am experiencing extreme slow downs on first open of home page or other sites, once its opened once its fine but its taking up to 10 seconds to initially open a page.
I have tried a complete reboot and have cleared the cache but its still the same.
Windows 7 home premium 64bit
Intel Pentium SU4100
4gb ram
Intel GMA4500MHD (up to 1695mb DVMT)
Any ideas, is it worth a re-install? if so how do i save all my personal info first?
Cheers

If I understood you right, try to add "favicon.ico" string to adblock.ini ))
This works fine in Opera's urlfilter.ini and since it's similar to Iron's adblock.ini (except asterisk), I guess, it should work in Iron too.
--------------------------------------------
Using Opera/Iron goes fine too. Coz I want to filter what I want to filter.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I actually use the Opera urlfilter.ini converted to Iron adblock.ini. But, regardless of how I add 'favicon.ico' the damned things still persist!
-favicon.ico
.favicon.ico
http://www.*.*/favicon.ico
nothing works.
Tried with the converted urlfilter.ini, and fanboy's adblock.ini for iron.
Next to try will be CCleaner, but that never worked in the past. What pisses me off is they never showed up in Iron's 'incognito mode' in the past, now they do!
BTW, the urlfilter.ini that is on fanboy's site does not include 'favicon.ico' that I can find.

^^ OK, I finally tried /favicon in the adblock.ini, and that stopped them.
Unfortunately, I will have to remember to do it every time Iron is updated, or try to resurrect the script the I use to add things to adblock, ini.
SRWare, what happened to the 'EDIT' function for your forums? It'd save a lot of reposts to correct, or add additional information to a post!

How on earth do you get additional search engines to show up in the default section? After I click 'Manage Search Engines' and enter a new one in the 'Additional' section, I still don't have the ability to use it.

add the new one, make default
such as: wikipedia ==>
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=%s
how to use ?
when you type something in the address bar, your browser will search that word with the default engine

How are you adding new search engines?
I don't want to replace the default engines. So I add new ones to 'Other Search Engines' section. There isn't a function to 'Make Default' after they've been added to that section.
I'm aware of how to use a search engine, not aware of how to add additional ones without modifying the ones in the default section.
