I posted this elsewhere - no answer in three weeks.
Iron is fast but I need complete forms manager and
password manager support to be comfortable with this browser,
as well as what I asked below:
==============
How do can get New Page, full screen...
Using Control-N, how can I get a new page; full screen, showing my home page.
>New Page, not New Tab.<
I do not like using tabs, would prefer to eliminate them completely
along with the space they occupy on the top of the screen.
Also I want to use Control-B to bring up my bookmarks.
How do I set hotkeys (or keyboard shortcuts)?
Thankz,
Marc

New Iron-Version: 12.0.750.0 Stable for Windows
Re: New Iron-Version: 12.0.750.0 Stable for Windows
Why does Iron not stick an automatic update check under "About Iron" option like Chrome does in "About Chrome", because of this I did not know there was a NEW version out and been having crashes occurring frequently until I came to the main Iron Help page.
just thought since it's based on Chrome at least the "tool/wrench" menu should function the same (with Iron being a bit better.)

Maybe because a little documentation reading might already provide you with answers?Regats wrote:I posted this elsewhere - no answer in three weeks.
There is a password manager in Options/Personal Stuff. But maybe your requirements are somewhat special ... ?Regats wrote:Iron is fast but I need complete forms manager and

Iron (and Chrome) already save space by moving the tabs into the title bar (in maximized mode) ... but to get rid of the title bar and use the whole screen, toggle the F11 key. Which, by the way, works with IE, Opera, Firefox, Safari and many other programs, too.Regats wrote:How do can get New Page, full screen...

Try Ctrl-Shift-B. (Same as in Safari)Regats wrote:Also I want to use Control-B to bring up my bookmarks.

You may want to make yourself familiar with the existing hotkeys.
Cheers, B.

@ Berno
In the latest version of Iron Ctrl-Shift-B hide/unhide the bookmarks bar.
@ Regats
Alt + E" opens the Tool Wrench, then "B" opens Bookmark Manager.

Re: New Iron-Version: 12.0.750.0 Stable for Windows
Not too complicated:
One more time:
I want Control-B to open bookmarks, Control-H to open history,
Control-N to open a new window, maximized, showing my home page.
And get rid of those tabs when there are no tabbed pages. Most of the time
I prefer to open a new window.
I want to copy my passwords, over 300 of them, from Seamonkey or Firefox,
and I want a complete and automatic Forms Manger.
I already know what Iron can do, and I like its speed, but without those keyboard
shortcuts which I'm used to, and the password and forms which are real time
savers, I'm just not going to use Iron very often.
In other words, I want my browser to work for me in a way that I want
to use it, not some hard-wired, inflexible scheme forced on me by the
program.

Not too complicated? How about you make your own browser to satisfy all your "I needs" and "I wants"?

No - not complicated at all.slimserv3r wrote:@ Regats

It's very simple, in fact.
Seamonkey 1.1 did all this and did it well.
If Iron is too rigid and primitive to work for me the way I want,
I have no use for it. By the time you read this I will have deleted it.

I am partially with you on that.Regats wrote:No - not complicated at all.

I use Palemoon as my main with Iron as my alternative. Iron is mostly for quick references and it's fast to load when needed.
In due time, the Chromium base might get more features and improve within itself to be more universal like Seamonkey/Firefox(let's hope not the bloat), but, for now, don't expect it to be what you want.
