Version 109.0.5550.0 problems, how to go back?
I was a very very very happy user because I believed that SRWare Iron was maybe the best browser in the world.... until I updated it.
Version 109.0.5550.0 (Official Build) (64-bit), as you guys know this is the latest update for Windows 7.
Well, a part Gmail that logs off or the tab is blank at each browser restart, and there seems to be no option to say keep logged in as it should always be so I don't understand why the developers destroyed something that was 100% perfectly functional, intuitive and working?
Settings/performance/always keep these sites active: so I added Gmail but Gmail login fields are still blank.
Settings/on startup: "open the new tab page" and "continue where you left off" both options look dead and there is no way to interact with the mouse.
When I start the browser it should open with the latest used tab which is Gmail (and it was working just perfectly before the latest update), it does open for a 1-2 seconds logged in then it reverts back to a blank gmail form and I need to input the password.
Now, I understand that this is the latest version of SRWare Iron for Windows 7 so could anyone please tell me what is a known stable and working version and how to go back and install it?
Alternatively what other browser brand can I use, I already spent a lot of time for this browser update issue so I need to move on.

Thanks very much I'll try it.
Do you know in what folders are the remaining files of the browser?
When I "clean" reinstall the application the browser still remembers the previous settings and some now result broken like for example saved login details so I assume they might be in conflict with the newer browser version.

Re: Version 109.0.5550.0 problems, how to go back?
Nothing has changed as per above description.
During the installation --> "custom installation" does nothing!
From the settings "continue where you left off" doesn't do anything!
The browser doesn't offer to save the password.
I had to delete the theme in Gmail because since the Iron update the Gmail window appeared so ugly and uncomfortable for the eyes.
Gmail opens logged in but after one second it reverts back to a blank login page.
So so frustrating so I'll spend my little spare time to search for an alternative browser.
Smart developers destroyed what was working perfectly!

I also want to go back to Version 108, because PayPal login does not work anymore with this last Version for Windows 7.
Where I can find the 108 Version x64 of Iron? The link above dos not work for me.
Thank you very much in advance.

PS: I found Ver. 108 (and 106) but both Versions does not solve the Paypal problem. Seems to be a problem with the "new" login page PayPal has launched.
After filling out the PayPal password field and hitting enter, the browser console says:
[xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] = token string, hided by me during pasting into this forum.

Re: Version 109.0.5550.0 problems, how to go back?
That doesn't look like your usual browser blocking, that looks like a legitimate shortcoming of the implementation of Javascript in that older browser. You could theoretically overcome it with an extension perhaps, but I doubt such an extension exists.
You could try complaining to Paypal support, but even if they acknowledged you they're unlikely to put in man hours to support an old OS, which is how they'll view this. I think you might be plain out of luck on this one.

Re: Version 109.0.5550.0 problems, how to go back?
That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for your assessment.
Well, I'm currently in the process of migrating to an up-to-date operating system. PayPal works there using the current Iron Browser.
I had hoped that I could postpone the migration a little longer, but now I obviously have to do it quickly.

If I'm not too late, may I suggest Reunion7?MarkusH wrote: ↑Wed Jul 16, 2025 1:25 pm That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for your assessment.

I'm running an old version (Reloaded7 ~Update 8 or so) as my daily driver since I had to upgrade my hardware last year, and it's Windows 10 LTSC 2021 reskinned as Windows 7. You'll need to fiddle a bit to get some Windows 10 features working since a lot of bloat was stripped out (Windows Store, for example) but if you've been running Win7 this long you're probably more than capable of figuring your way around. The only caveat to this I'll point out is you need to hit Win+I to bring up the Windows 10 Settings screen :p
