I find a CLICK and HOLD on the little globe to the left of the URL, then DRAGGING it to a folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar, or a folder IN A folder there, or to one in the Other Bookmarks folder works better than clicking a button and having to scroll through a bunch of bookmarks and folders that the button opens up.
If this was in response to my post I fully understand the many ways of creating bookmarks, drag the globe, use the bookmarks manager, right click and add page or folder etc etc - I believe you misunderstand my question - "is there a way to limit the description width of a bookmark"

If for example you have one bookmark which looks like this....

<---------------------------------------The whole description here-------------------------------------------------------------------->

All bookmarks in that folder will be

<------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->

This long. I would rather they are limited to so many characters so that for example it is only...

<------Some of the description here--------->

this wide. If you already have literally hundreds of bookmarks carried over from a previous installation of Iron which used to automatically limit the width of bookmarks, individually editing every single bookmark description you have imported is a long job.

Thanks for the new version. I havent installed it yet, but am wondering why the portable version is 21mb zipped and the desktop is 14mb exe? I would have thought the portable zip version would be smaller.

I think that the "install version" creates the profile folder in the user dir.

The "portable version" has to have the profile already at start, so the profile folder is already in the zip.

May Srware Iron make that the protocol http / https appear again into the address bar?
For me and others friends it is very useful, or as we think that the user could activate or deactivate this option.

Hi,

I've noticed, too, that the http doesn't appear, but httpS does appear whenever the page is secured. Does yours not show https when on a secure site ? :)

Yes, the httS appear, but I mean this protocol should appear even with just HTTP, making easier to write a simple an S and not the whole HTTPS://

PS: Could be true that the ocultation of the protocol http is for promote the spdy google protocol?

As far as I understand the "http" prefix has been removed because this is THE default protocol. Whatever else you use which is not standard http (https, ftp) you will see again the prefix in place. This is somehow similar to the port number in URL. Nobody enters port number if the standard one (i.e. 80) is used. In addition remember that if you copy the URL without "http" prefix to clipboard it will be coppied there with the "http" prefix automatically - to allow further processing in other applications. Stating this I think there is no need to have it in Iron/Chromium URL at all.

Removing http:// is an oversimplification.
Same thing goes for comparing Chrome 5 interface with Chrome 6 interface.
Chrome 6 is faster, but its interface offers less power.

SRWare Iron is much faster than Chrome due to true and performance friendly adblocking.
SRWare Iron is more privacy conscious than Chrome.
But, Iron has no other significant features.
Allow more GUI freedom, ability to remove the new tab page, etc... would be greatly appreciated.

Downloading files (like jar / zip) from docs.google.com causes a redirect error in Iron 5 and Iron 6.
Just try it, upload an compressed file and then try to download it.
