Thanks for the fast reply.
This way the updated browser starts but I'm losing some customized items (windows size, theme, etc ...).
Do I have to do this again with every update or is this just once now ?
Just once. We updated the browser now so that this has not to be done manually for the other users who are affected. Thanks for the fedback.
Alright, the browser is again working fine here. Again, thanks for your reactivity, much appreciated ... :D

False positive. Stop the scanner, run the setup and activate it again

Tried that, but still being blocked...at both the download link as well the browser even being allowed to open on my desktop

Just submitted a Support Ticket to Sophos:
Your request for reassessment has been sent to the automated system. Please allow up to 5 business days for the reassessment to take place.

If you're a Sophos customer and require a formal response for urgent reclassification request, please open a technical support ticket.
I can't devote any more time to battling this. If you have another means of outreach, I'd appreciate it.

Meantime, I have no other choice but to use Chrome or another browser at the moment.

Next step is to change AV programs...again. An even bigger ass pain.

Thx

I am having a similar problem, with the new version crashing on opening. The install did not remove the previous version 54. Uninstalling the old version partially removed both new and old versions. Many attempts with reboots to uninstall and reinstall ran ok but no versions work now. My registry is littered with references to Iron browser even when uninstalled. Now no option other than to use Google Chrome  Help...

I've tried to install the latest version 62.0.3250.0 five or six times and each time the screen turns white for 5 seconds and nothing else happens.

Clearly still a problem here. After following instructions to delete the First Run and kSE1 files, the browser will open briefly, then close, and will not reopen. Happening on Win 7 Sp1 and on Win10 latest (creators update) release. Rolled back to Rel 61 and everything is fine. Been using Iron for a couple of years now, be a shame to have to find a new browser.
