Third version in a row now that won't run. What gives?

Such a shame, I love Iron. Someone must know how to get in running on latest 64-bit Ubuntu.

Any help much appreciated.

Iron gives this errors every time I launch it on Kubuntu 11.10:

[9503:9506:4049815185:ERROR:object_proxy.cc(239)] Failed to call method: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files
LaunchProcess: failed to execvp:
/usr/share/iron/nacl_helper_bootstrap
[9505:9505:4049827909:ERROR:nacl_fork_delegate_linux.cc(104)] Bad NaCl helper startup ack (0 bytes)
[9503:9511:4049883551:ERROR:nacl_process_host.cc(355)] Failed to open NaCl IRT file "/usr/share/iron/nacl_irt_x86_64.nexe": -4

And this when closing:

Gkr-Message: secret service operation failed: The name org.freedesktop.secrets was not provided by any .service files

Some help would be nice.

could you please upload the source codes on your site and provide directlinks for them, instead of uploading several archives to rapidshare?

using alien is a bad idea btw.

Works great with Slackware 13.37. Thanks for the simple .gz archive.

This is a very nice project. I would like to thank you for it. However, things would be easier if you could set up a Debian/Ubuntu repository.

The RPM is a nice touch. There's one problem I found, though. Links clicked in other applications only launch a blank browser window in Gnome.

The fix is to change the Exec parameter in the iron.desktop file and add %U at the end:

Exec=/usr/share/iron/iron %U

Which error do you get? Did you try the debs?

Hello

Sorry for slow response, kind of gave up for a while. I don't get any errors as such. The .deb's appear to install fine but when I try to click on Iron to start the program nothing happens. If I unpack the .gz's and try to run Iron from a folder, it says "file not an executable" or something like that. For the last three generations of Iron, it's always come down to the launcher file 'iron' not being an executable in both the .deb's and the .gz's. I'm reasonably familiar with Linux so I don't think I'm doing anything stupid.

Thanks

Tried again today to execute Iron64 (installed via .deb) from the command line and got this:

sam@PC:/usr/share/iron$ ./iron
./iron: error while loading shared libraries: libXss.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
