Currently using Version 51.0.2700.0 (64-bit)
Since installing v. 50 and greater I've found a couple of hiccups. Attempting to watch an Olympics video here http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/armeni ... ntext=wnbc. The player appears but the video will not play. Same is true for a few other websites. I have PPAPI and Silverlight installed. Also, now when I go to https://www.chase.com I get the following: "Please update your browser soon.
Your browser is out of date. We’ll soon require a newer browser version to access your online accounts and statements. This will help protect your account and provide a better experience. Click here for your browser choices." I can access my account using Chrome or IE but Iron is not recognized. any suggestions?

This happens to me at the Chase site also; the same "Please update your browser ..." when I log out. AND when I log in, it loads the mobile site! That's very, very annoying. The mobile version of the site looks terrible on a PC. I want the full version, but I simply cannot get it using Iron. I don't know why it thinks that I either 1) have an old version of a Chromium-based browser, 2) or don't have javascript enabled, 3) or don't have Flash enabled?

I'm using Iron Version 54.0.2850.0 on a desktop computer running Windows 7 64-bit.

Thank you very much to anybody on the forum for any help.

Changing your "UserAgent" info helps sites such as Chase, as well as other sites that examine your browser info using this method. Changing "UserAgent" info also helps with video sites that still use "Flash" ("Flash" plug-In is not a Chrome or Iron problem). As "Flash" is being phased out, changing "UserAgent" info still helps some of the older sites, but probably won't be as much an issue in the future.

The portable versions of Iron includes a handy tool that makes this easy:

1) To change UserAgent, use the Iron tool "Iron_Backup_Config_Portable.exe",
2) Goto the "UserAgent" tab,
3) You should see a text string inside box similar to (depending on version of Iron):

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/48.0.2550.1 Iron/48.0.2550.0 Safari/537.36

4) Go ahead and edit the text to something like:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.116 Safari/537.36

(in the above example, the Chrome browser version was edited to "display" a more recent version (48xxx -> 52xxx), and the Iron browser version info was eliminated from the "UserAgent")
5) Once you are satisfied with the text string modifications, click on the "Create Shortcut to Launch Iron with UserAgent above"
6) A new shortcut should be on your desktop with your new "UserAgent" modifications.

As standards keep changing, I've found this simple change to clear up a variety of issues.

Chromebook, thank you so much! That solved my problem on every site that I've been to so far!

Your explanation was invaluable. Thank you for taking the time to educate me, above and beyond.

The "Chrome UA Spoofer" extension for Chrome is a quick way to change your useragent information, also.
