Thanks; as previous version, still no issue running this new version within my XP VM thus far. Only thing I wish is Amazon Prime would completely embrace HTML5 instead of playing games but that's not a game changer to me. :)

Hello,

Iron is great, I like it very much yet there is one show stopper.
The "Share Screen" feature in Google Hangout doesn't work.
I click it and nothing happens.

It's been like that for last releases (Since Hangout became Plug In less).

Could you check it and fix it?

Thank You.

Chrome developers have introduced a new feature, Tab Discarding, which is supposed to discard the data in a tab that is in the background and is not used for some time. More details here: https://developers.google.com/web/updat ... discarding. In theory, it can be enabled or disabled using this option: chrome://flags/#enable-tab-discarding. Only in theory. In practice, I found the feature annoying and I have attempted to disable it. Surprise: the option was disabled, but somehow the feature was still active. No matter what I did, it stayed active. I am using Iron 47. Has anything happened when you imported the Chromium sources? Would it be possible to correct the bug and make that option work as expected in order to enable or disable the Tab Discarding?

I am back with a workaround as answer to the question How can the tab discarding be disabled? There is a parameter in the command line which can be used for that. Just use the --force-fieldtrials command line option like this:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\SRWare Iron\chrome.exe" --force-fieldtrials=AutomaticTabDiscarding/Disabled
You must change the path to the one where your Iron browser is installed though. Source: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issu ... 525216#c17

New version doesn't have the spell checker.

It does have instead a switch to change writing direction between Left to Right and Right to Left. Can we get back the spell checker?

I came here to complain about the same thing. Holy crap what are Google thinking??? Am not installing v47 on my home machine or future versions of Iron until this is sorted out - I can't get parameters to work in Taskbar shortcuts and surprise surprise MS never fixed it even since the first public betas.

Please do return and let us know when the feature works as intended (able to be switched off via flags for instance), alx_max. I'll be watching.

Recently been having problems accessing pixls's website.

https://discuss.pixls.us/

Had some interaction with the OP and he said it's because WinXP doesn't handle SHA256 (not sure why this has become an issue now). I can access the site using Opera browser so not sure if it's just isolated with Iron or not. I get the following error when I try to access the site:
