Re: New Iron-Version: 96.0.4900.0 Stable for Linux
Es geht! Danke schoen!
I had to follow the installation instructions I saved a while back:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
cd /usr/local
tar -xf /home/software/Web.browsing/<Iron tar archive file name>
./iron-linux.sh
rm -f ReadMe.txt
cd <Iron directory>
sudo chown root chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 chrome-wrapper
To start Iron:
/usr/local/iron-linux-64/chrome-wrapper %U --password-store=basic
Note: The "--password-store=basic" solves the problem of Iron puting up
three small windows asking for password to unlock the keyring. This
is what I put as the command in the menu bar drawer button for Iron.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once I did all that, it started up just fine.
I did notice, however, after I started Iron my disk started "crunching" about twice per second. When I closed Iron, the disk accesses stop.
While Iron was running, I did a "ps -ef" and saw there were 18 separate processes for Iron.
Is this how things are supposed to be? My previous version, 91.0.4650.0, does not have the constant disk accesses.
