by SRWare
We released the new Iron for Linux 62 today, which contains all features and updates known from Chromium 62. The current version is 62.3250.0.
Main improvements:
- HTTP sites that request user data will now be flagged as "non-secure"
- Bug-/Securityfixes
On Debian and distributions which use an older Kernel the following commands may be necessary (the .deb packages already do it automatically):
Code: Select all
cd [insert Iron directory here]
sudo chown root chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 chrome-wrapper
./chrome-wrapper (for the start of Iron)
On Kubuntu, Lubuntu and other Non-GNOME-Distributions, please run once:
To enable Netflix oder Amazon Video you have copy libwidevinecdm.so from an original Google Chrome installation to the Iron folder.
Alternative: Get it from the Slackware-Respos:
http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slackbu ... ne-plugin/
How to get Flash working:
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8295
You can launch the "Config and Backup Tool" via ./IronConfigBackup or via the Shell as "SRWare Iron Config and Backup Tool" under Networks
WebRTC can be disabled by our extension:

I do not know what does the word "Stable" means for some developers, but when I start this version on my Ubuntu 16.04 I got only:
ATTENTION: default value of option force_s3tc_enable overridden by environment.

Could anyone help with installing this for Debian 9? I'm fairly new to the OS and can't get this working.

Hi
The lastest update have broken my flash, so I now do not have flash in the Iron browser.
chrome://flash/ gives this
Flash plugin Not installed
And flash is not listed in chrome://components/
I am on linux mint rosa, and have installed flash like is recommend here
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8295
I have Firefox installed where flash works fine.
Any one got an idea of what is wrong??
