Clearly still a problem here. After following instructions to delete the First Run and kSE1 files, the browser will open briefly, then close, and will not reopen. Happening on Win 7 Sp1 and on Win10 latest (creators update) release. Rolled back to Rel 61 and everything is fine. Been using Iron for a couple of years now, be a shame to have to find a new browser.

Could you please try to delete the files again, redownload the setup from here and try it again?
If it does not works, there is another way

version 62.0.3250 was working for days before trying to clear browser data.
after doing so refuses to start.
re-installing did not help.
reverted to 61.0.3200.0 which works fine.

The (JS?) issues I reported with the last version are solved with this new version of Iron. That's great!

But deleting the most recent links on empty tabs crash the browser reproducibly. I guess, it's if I delete most recent link number 12, leading to an empty space and 11 links left on the empty tab. But again, that's just a guess. The crash though is not a guess ;o)

As a user above me pointed out, this has a problem, Extraction of the zip is throwing a CRC check error. Please update the zip with the right file and update the download link. Thanks.

Hi,

Using the concerned zip file in both, the installer and the portable version x64, without any problem here ...

WOW! I've nothing but praise for the developers of this browser (using portable version)!!!!! :D
I've been dreading messing with newer browsers for far too many reasons to mention here.

For now, just a few questions I hope someone can help me with.
I apologize if I somehow missed the answers in all my searching around here.

1. Flash: With incredible sites like Ferry Halim's Orisinal, we appreciate that it works in this latest package.
However, is there a way to make it ASK to play, the way it has in prior versions? It now plays automatically,
and I'm unable to find where I can change that behavior.

2. Webrtc? Is the extension that blocks this necessary for this version? How about the installed version?
It seemed it was initially blocking it without the extension.
Is there a list where we can find out which versions need that extension?
And does or will this extension work in other 'flavors' of chromium?

3. Why are there version(s?) of Iron that show 'without h264?
Would this be better for older P4 systems? It looks like only one version I see (48.x?)

4. XP: What is the latest installed version compatible with XP?
Will the newer portable versions work with XP?

Thanks for any help on these questions.

Again, all of us here wholeheartedly thank these Awesome developers for this Awesome browser choice!

Re: Update - Flash - Ask to Run

Post by Onyx50 »

Update: Was able to find where I can set flash to ask to run (click to play).
But it seems once you allow, it persistently sets it that way from then on.
You can remove the site from the list and it will again ask to run.

I would rather have 'click to play' be persistent no matter if I've already allowed flash to run on a site.
But I surely can live with it the way it is.

Still need info on the other questions I have.
Please feel free to move thread If these questions should be in another [more appropriate] area.

Thanks again everyone!
