Can't play many Adobe Flash Videos...

Post by Toriatama »

Hello,

I am using Iron Version 54.0.2850.0 (64-bit), with the latest Flash PPAPI version (23,0,0,207) --- note: Flash NPAPI and ActiveX version are also installed. System: Win7 64bits

I can play Youtube video but I cannot play many Flash video on Yahoo Japan. The url is:
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/

All video required Flash to be installed. Most video will play without problems, but many won't play. Unfortunately adobe error message are in Japanese so I cannot see exactly what is said.

Here are links provided for test...
ATTENTION: you need to be in Japan or to use a VPN server in Japan to access the videos!

The following links give a "Error Code: bc1001":
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/player/11139/v0 ... 000000177/
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/player/11142/v0 ... 000000075/
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/player/11137/v0 ... 000000382/

Those ones will play without problem:
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/player/00908/v1 ... 000003117/
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/player/00867/v0 ... C_GYsit003
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/player/00908/v1 ... 000003850/
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/player/00569/v0 ... 000527789/

On another laptop under Win 8.1, with Iron and flash (same versions installed), some others video give a sht1 error code.

Here is a page test with 3 kind of Flash video provided by Yahoo Japan:
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/guide/
The 1st and 3rd video links work fine, the 2nd link always fails ("Error Code: bc1001"). I could not find any info about this particular error.

Thanks for any help!

Since I have updated Iron and Adobe Flash player to the latest version, and done more tests, now it's clearly a problem with Iron or Chrome:

All Yahoo videos (from gyao.yahoo.co.jp website) are working and playing well in Firefox. There is 3 kinds of video and they are all ok.

WIth Chrome/Iron, 2 kinds of video are playing normally, but 1 type of video does not work.

Here is the kind of video that plays normally with Firefox but does not work with Chrome Iron:
http://gyao.yahoo.co.jp/player/00590/v1 ... 000000837/

The video link since to be provided by brightcove.com.

I'm not a IT expert but here is why I can find in the console:
gyao.yahoo.co.jp/:1117 A Parser-blocking, cross-origin script, http://ai.yimg.jp/bdv/yahoo/javascript/ ... obf_b11.js, is invoked via document.write. This may be blocked by the browser if the device has poor network connectivity. See https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5718547946799104 for more details.

The server seems to block Iron

EDIT: sorry, I've found the cause of this issues, it's related to my VPN (proxy) I use with Iron/Chrome which was blocked by the video provider.
