We released the new Iron for Linux 53 today, which contains all features and updates known from Chromium 53. The current version is 53.2800.0.

Main improvements:
- battery lifetime improvements on laptops
- Bug-/Securityfixes
- partial Netflix/Amazon Video Support (see below)

To enable Netflix oder Amazon Video you have copy libwidevinecdm.so from an original Google Chrome installation to the Iron folder.

How to get Flash working:

You can launch the "Config and Backup Tool" via ./IronConfigBackup or via the Shell as "SRWare Iron Config and Backup Tool" under Networks

I can't use it. On Debian testing (Stretch) I get this:

Code: Select all

[4978:4978:1002/111056:FATAL:zygote_host_impl_linux.cc(107)] No usable sandbox! Update your kernel or see https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/master/docs/linux_suid_sandbox_development.md for more information on developing with the SUID sandbox. If you want to live dangerously and need an immediate workaround, you can try using --no-sandbox.

No, with the option "--no-sandbox", Iron run but a fastidious warning appares
in the browser window and then "I don't want to live dangerously".

may be this could help:
Run these four commands individually:

sudo mv chrome_sandbox chrome-sandbox
sudo chown root chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 chrome-sandbox
./chrome-wrapper

And please tell us if this work.
