I was a big Opera user for many years until I found Iron, now it is what I use the most and is set as my default browser. My issue though is it seems like every other release the spell checker stops working. I notice their is mention of improvements to the spell checker in this new release but instead I have found it no longer works in the new version. Any suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated as it worked before this version and I really like the feature. Thanks!
In case it gets stated or questioned... Yes, spell checking is enabled.
got the same problem on Windows XP as the user "Azrael5" unable to sign in to my profile and syncronize my saved data bookmarks and whatever with this new version of SRWare Iron. Please FIX it, cuz it's disappointing.
rolled back to version 24! I'm glad I didnt delete the installer this version works the best for me. as my IT friends say: new not always the best, new version of Iron way too buggy it's a pity I like Iron better than Google Chrome.
Can I get a link to the portable version 25.0.1400.0? The thread for that release just downloads version 26. I would love to go back to version 25 but I can't find an archive for the life of me. Thanks!
Be careful, what do you want to download? Installer, Portable, Linux, or for Mac. Installer for Windows only: "srware_iron.exe" Portable (Windows only): IronPortable.zip Linux: iron-linux-64.tar.gz (64-bit) or iron-linux.tar.gz (32-bit) Mac: "iron-mac.zip"
Hope you are enjoy it!
Windows 10 Pro x64
SRWare Iron Portable (64-bit)
16GB DDR4 Memory
256GB SSD 3D NAND M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4
For both this version and v25, I downloaded the NativeClient zip and copied the files over those in the Iron directory. I followed some Google advice and went into about:flags to Enable Native Client and restarted the browser.
But there's still no Native Client option in chrome://plugins and of course Native Client programs don't work. I noticed the replacement files are exactly the same size as the ones that got installed with Iron by default, so are the correct files even packaged? Or is there some other thing that numerous Google searches didn't reveal that I'm doing wrong?
I have had to slip back one release. The 26 version got to be very unstable with flash and javascript. Screen started jumping and was damned difficult to get shut down.
I know Iron 26 had some hard Flash problems at first release, but the longer I used it, the worse it got.
Will take a look at the next version.
OK Next THING>>>> How the hell to I get my profile(s) back working with version 25? I get REALLY tired of the error box that says the profile could not be opened completely.
THIS IS BECAUSE OF SOMETHING IN THE Iron 26 version!!
What is it?
How do I fix it?
