Foxit Reader...how to install the plugin

Post by dsa2591 »

I've just installed version 6, and I need to use Foxit for my PDF's. Can someone either give me or direct me to some step-by-step instructions? Thank you!

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think there is a Foxit plugin for Iron(Chrome).
There is suppose to be a 'built in' PDF reader that can be activated in about:plugins, but I can't find it. See the first post in this thread.

I removed the Adobe Reader plugin on general principles and now simply download PDFs and open them with the default PDF reader (PDF-Xchange, in my case).

Iron is detecting the Foxit Reader plugin on my system...be sure to Check for Updates in the Foxit help menu, and then choose "Mozilla Firefox Plugin" (which is actually used by all browsers, not just Firefox).

To test it, go to about:plugins and disable the internal PDF reader (which should be the first plugin listed), and then try to open a PDF.

BTW I also use PDFX-Change Viewer too, I even have the plugin installed and have disabled all other PDF plugins.

Hmmm.... I just looked, and I do not have a PDF 'default' plugin in Iron 6 install folder. Not that I would use. I generally D/L PDF's and open them outside of the browsers with Foxit.

Where can I get that 'default' PDF plugin? Should I get rid of the Iron 6 folder, and reinstall? I think I may have installed over the older version.
