How to set default browser in windows 7

1. Uninstall Iron
2. Delete folder from program files
3. Install old version of Iron 4.0.155
4. After install run Iron as administrator (second click and select run as administrator)
5. Go to options and set Iron as default browser

Now you can just install new version over the old one.

Note: Later I have installed version 4.0.227 of Iron
because i like middle mouse click.

I have done this for default browser and it is working. :ironvsff

If someone is using new 4.0.275 version you can try this and let us know if it is working the same.

Using Windows 7.

In 4.0.275 Release Candidate version when i click on Iron shortcut icon in the task bar, a new shortcut icon appears. Now there are 2 icons of the Iron. Windows 7 taskbar does not supposed to work like that, so there should be only one shortcut icon.

G'day.

I've given Google Chrome the flick, and decided to go with Iron instead.

This is a bit of a newbie question, with regard to adblock.

I've downloaded and installed Fanboy's Adblock.ini but I still get ads.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it necessary to also install an adblock extension as per Google Chrome or Firefox.

Perhaps I've missed it but I've browsed through the forum, and I cannot find a mention of this anywhere.

If so which of the numerous, "adblock" extensions am I supposed to use.

Under Google Chrome I used the AdBlock+ Element Hiding Helper as I found it to be better than others.

Thanks in advance.

For people who have problems with two icons in Windows 7 taskbar do the folowing:
1. Delete your current IRon shortcut from taskbar
2. Start Iron from the installation folder
3. On the icon of the strated Iron, on the taskbar -> Right click -> Pin to Taskbar and you should not get 2 icons anymore.

It's too bad that Iron does not have mouse gestures... they aren't hard to implement and they could offer a lot of satisfaction. The current extensions don't work on new page, as Chrome Extension policy, so mouse gestures don't work on new tabs...
