Description : Bzip2 is a freely available, patent-free, high quality data
            : compressor. Bzip2 compresses files to within 10 to 15 percent of
            : the capabilities of the best techniques available. However, bzip2
            : has the added benefit of being approximately two times faster at

            : does strike a balance between speed and compression capability.
            :
            : Install bzip2 if you need a compression utility.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi,

Just posted about not being able to install to CentOS .2. Here's the kicker. The correct bzip lib for it is in /lib. Also:

Code: Select all

:) yum install bzip2-libs-1.0.5-7.el6_0.i686
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities, refresh-packagekit, security
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * base: mirror.spro.net
 * elrepo: repos.dfw.lax-noc.com
 * extras: linux.mirrors.es.net
 * rpmforge: mirror.nl.leaseweb.net
 * updates: mirror.atlanticmetro.net
Setting up Install Process
Package bzip2-libs-1.0.5-7.el6_0.i686 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
What to do? Thanks.

This new 32-bit iron.deb installed without any error messages in current Linux Mint Maya, but no launch icon appeared on the desktop or in the menus, nor can it be started from Terminal. The locator command "sudo locate iron" finds "/usr/share/iron/iron", but that file is not an executable, if it was indeed intended to be so.

Someone has commented elsewhere that during installation, for unknown reasons, Ubuntu (and Ubuntu-derived Mint) misinterprets the Iron executable as something else, rendering it non-executable. Is there a workaround for this, like getting a correct executable elsewhere and inserting it in the appropriate spot? Otherwise, iron.deb needs to be fixed so it will install correctly in Linux Mint and Ubuntu (in Ubuntu 12.04 it was a little different - an icon appeared for Iron, but would not start it).
for your information
in terminal :
$ /usr/share/iron/iron
/usr/share/iron/iron: error while loading shared libraries: libXss.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
$ sudo apt-get install libxss1

worked for me
