New version of iron keeps on crashing

Post by creed123 »

Hi,
I'm using iron for a very long time and never had a single problem with it until,
I've installed iron 20.0.1150.0 for windows a few weeks back but unfortunately it keeps on crashing.
I get the following error report:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: iron.exe
Application Version: 20.0.1150.1
Application Timestamp: 4ffc53f9
Fault Module Name: iron.dll
Fault Module Version: 20.0.1150.1
Fault Module Timestamp: 4ffc5344
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 0097b3fb
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Locale ID: 1037
Additional Information 1: 0a9e
Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
Additional Information 3: 0a9e
Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

Any idea what this means?

If not is there a way for me to change back to the previous version?
I tried but when I do I get a message that says something like "the profile is of a newer version and can't be loaded".
Is there a way to downgrade my profile settings as well?

Thanks allot!

try:

-without your firewall application (using only the windows firewall)
-disable your security software (antivirus, antimalware)

I'm having the same problem -- it seems as though it just randomly crashes. I've been using this program for years without problem, this is the first error I've ever encountered.

Anyone have a link to download version 19?

No offense mepz, but that is useless advice.

My version of Iron also crashes spontaneously and often on two XP PC's which I use. I have the the latest version of Iron and the crashes started with the previous version.

interresting to see this thread going on,

i have also been using Iron since it started, never had any probs with it,
but i think since version 19.x.x i am having issues too,
my laptop after a while of using Iron becomes nearly frozen, and i need to kill the Iron processes, after which it returns back to normal.

Also the harddisk light starts blinking (reading/writing?) nonstop as soon as i open Iron and start to browse the web.
I upgraded to latest version Iron, but the problem is still there.

I have this only when Iron is opened.
As i am posting this now from Firefox (which i totally dont like!)

regards
