PDF reader (Foxit)

Hi,
I've been trying to figure this out:
In Chrome, I had to put a dll file (npFoxitReaderPlugin.dll) in
C/Documents and Settings/(user name)/Local settings/Application data/Google/Chrome/Application/Plugins
(or something similar) in order to read PDF-files with Foxit Reader. How do I do with Iron?

Iron using different path to its folders....

main data are in C:\Program Files\SRware Iron (or similar)
extensions are in C:\Users\your_name\AppData\Local\Chromium\User Data\Default\Extensions

but the best way is try to install / re-install Foxit Reader first (maybe problem will be resolved)

You should know, some programs (most of) supported IE / FF only

Hi,
yes, Foxit did work using Chrome. I just put the dll-file in Chrome's plugin folder.
I tried to put the dll-file in
C:\Documents and Settings\(user name)\Local settings\Application Data\Chromium\User Data\Default\Extensions
but it didn't work. Are you supposed to put inside a folder first, the put that folder in the extension folder?
By the way, there was already a folder in the extension folder, called nheaocaplknjkpcnbadlgfpdfjaabiml.

I found inside folders with strange name only some unknown files, probably cache of extensions. Try put it into main folder C:\Program Files\SRware Iron .... 1st try to root folder, 2try to \extension folder.....
If nothing working.... just It cant be done with Iron

No... It didn't work, thanks anyway. Iron will try to open the PDF with Acrobat Reader, which says something like "Adobe Acrobat Reader can't display PDF in your browser. Please exit and try again". Maybe they'll sort this out in the future.

I found the solution!
I had both Acroat reader 7 and Professional 8.1 installed. All I had to to was to uncheck all the things in Edit-Preferences-Internet, restart Iron, the everything worked (although the PDF:s now will open in Acrobat reader instead of Foxit).

For all those of you that have Adobe Acrobat Pro.As of now Acrobat Pro is not officially supported by chrome, only Adobe Reader is. If you have Acrobat Pro, you do not have to remove it. You can have Adobe Reader also on the same computer, you will get the option to choose which one you want to view .pdf files in.

This is what you have to do:

Open Acrobat -----> Edit ---- > Preferences -----> Internet.

1) Uncheck "Display PDF in browser"
2) Uncheck "Allow fast web view"
3) Uncheck " Allow speculative downloading in the background"

Ignore the Internet connection speed.

Now make sure all the above boxes are "Ticked" in Adobe Reader.

And That's it. Now whenever you view a PDF file, it should open just fine.

Any idea if this (Foxit reader plugin) is possible with Iron Portable? I have had no luck (following directions above).

I think it is difficult for that. You have to just install latest add-ons. Foxit is the best for use. It contains some great features and functionalities. It is simple, easy to use and more.
