I would like to know if there is a way to play the .mov files when they are embeded in a web page ?

I use Iron Chrome 8 under Linux / Debian.

You need the plugins that allow browsers to play QuickTime movies; I know that Ubuntu uses Totem for this purpose, and generally it's a system-wide thing.
