...on both versions of Iron Portable, 64bit & 32bit since the last 2-3 versions.
The funny thing I'm using other 64bit and 32bit versions of chromium based browsers, like Comodo Dragon, Opera, etc basically for testing purposes. And the ALL of them are running smooth and nicely as portables.
Even more funny...even when I took a freshly downloaded 'virgin' Iron, 64 or 32bit, it crashes as soon as I want to enter 'settings'. Even the very latest version (50.0.2650.0) crashes the same way...
I've uploaded the crash report files here:
Iron Crash Files.zip - 11.7 MB
I would very much appreciate, if someone could take a look into it and tell me, where the failure is. I'm using Iron portable versions for years now and so far, I was more than happy with them. But obviously not in the moment
Thanks in advance!

Can you try to launch it with --single-process parameter?
Maybe also with --disable-webgl
Maybe also with --disable-webgl

Re: Very weird crash problem entering settings...
Thanks for the suggestions. But if I do like...
E:\Portables\IronPortable64\IronPortable.exe -single-process parameter
E:\Portables\IronPortable64\IronPortable.exe -disable-webgl
E:\Portables\IronPortable64\IronPortable.exe -single-process parameter -disable-webgl
Doesn't work either...still crashing on entering settings. Same goes for the 32bit version.
Very strange indeed...

Can you try to remove all files and folder in the settings folder?CapricornOne wrote:Thanks for the suggestions. But if I do like...

Re: Very weird crash problem entering settings...
Deleted everything with 'settings' in the Iron folders - still crashing.
As I said...it crashes with a 'virgin' copy of Iron portable on another disk and USB device
My 'old' 64bit version (45.0.2400.0) on the same USB device works flawless...

Re: Very weird crash problem entering settings...
The view Settings crashing problem is caused by a buggy Etron USB 3.0 driver on your computer.
To workaround, you need to unplug everything connected to a USB 3.0 port.
The permanent fix is to uninstall the Etron USB 3.0 driver from your system, and download the most up-to-date version of Etron USB 3.0 driver for your computer/motherboard.
