New Iron-Version: 47.0.2500.0 Stable for Linux

Post by SRWare »

We released the new Iron for Linux 47 today, which contains all features and updates known from Chromium 47. The current version is 47.2500.0.

How to get Flash working:
http://www.srware.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8295

To activate sync, run Iron ONE TIME with this parameter from the console and then activate sync:
./iron --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2227.0 Safari/537.36"

Attention:
We create no 32-Bit Versions due to the marginal usage. The downloads link to an older version.

Thanks for your hard work. The 64 bit deb version for Linux works well, but all of the bookmark folders that are normally yellow are now black. It appears as if the yellow colored colored icon folder icon is missing, and all that is left is the blank spot where it would otherwise be.

Great browser, but just one little problem...no matter what I do, I cannot get flash working, spent all morning pigging around in ubuntu terminal and....still no flash working on the bbc: (

Why does chrome/chromium have flash working, when this browser does not? I cannot understand it. Can anyone help with a simple fix to get flash working, this is ridiculous in 2016.

Thanks for all the helpful replies, but I am still stuck, only youtube works, no flash anywhere else.

So I had to go back to FF on linux, .exe is no good for linux.

I'll try again in a year or so, and hopefully flash will work then :?:  :ironvsff

Here's what I did to get pepper flash working in Iron. I hope it helps.

1. go here download and install the latest pepperflashplugin-nonfree deb file
http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/amd64 ... e/download
2. copy the libpepflash.so file from here:
/usr/lib/pepperflashplugin-nonfree/
to here:
/usr/share/iron/
3. check the version of pepperflash by running this in terminal:
sudo update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --status
4. run this in terminal to launch iron, replace the version number at the end with the one from the last step:
/usr/share/iron/iron --ppapi-flash-path=/usr/share/iron/libpepflashplayer.so --ppapi-flash-version=18.0.0.209
5. go here in iron and make sure that the flash plugin shows-up, if so close iron and proceed to the next step
chrome://plugins/
6. open leafpad (or whatever text editor you use) and browse to the iron.desktop file located in /usr/share/applications/
7. change the exec line in the file to the following, updating the correct version number at the end
Exec=sh -c "/usr/share/iron/iron --ppapi-flash-path=/usr/share/iron/libpepflashplayer.so --ppapi-flash-version=18.0.0.209"
8. start iron normally and go back to chrome://plugins/ and the flash plugin should be listed

After starting the browser from terminal, SRWare seems to work fine :ironvschrome , flash is available, however I get this error message:
