Post by SRWare »

You can download a beta-version of Iron for Linux now:
http://www.srware.net/downloads/iron-linux.tar.gz

Extensions/Plugins:
http://www.chrome-plugins.info/en

Update:
The download now contains Iron for Linux 4.0.227 and introduces many improvements like a nearly complete options-dialog and stable working flash-support.

Attention:
This is a beta release, which means that there are some things uncomplete or broken.

Iron browser 4.0.227 Beta works great on my Linux system. Thank you for your work. Does SRWare have any plans to build a 64bit version of the Iron browser?

Illegal exception... hmm, haven't seen anything like that. Could you better described the error?

My processor ia an Athlon Xp 2.4+ and I am using i686 Arch Linux.
Iron was installed from AUR.
When I run from terminal, I get this error:
iron
/usr/bin/iron: line 4: 30234 illegal instruction /opt/iron/iron "$@"
google-chrome-dev from AUR works.

Windows version of Iron works too.

I'm also still wondering when a 64bit version of Iron might come out. Thanks.

Hi guys,

first of all thank you very much for your great work, I used Iron a lot back in WinXP (sucks!) and I'm very happy now I can use it too in Linux. :D

However, I need assistance to install the Flash plug-in. Specifically, where do I have to drop libflashplayer.so in order to make it work with Iron?

I'm waiting anxiously the coming Iron 4.0 stable release, best!
