Error when trying to run Iron in Ubuntu 12.04

Post by drifterer »

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit version. Iron used to work just fine, but after I updated a few versions ago (probably 34), Iron stopped working. I have been patiently waiting for a fix ever since, but I just installed the latest version today (38.0.2050.0), and I still get this error. Whenever I try to run Iron from Terminal, I get this error:

Code: Select all

$ ./iron
./iron: error while loading shared libraries: libharfbuzz.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
What is causing this error? When I first started getting this error, I tested the same version of Iron on Ubuntu 14.04, and it worked flawlessly.

I too am having this issue. I have asked before with regards and have had no reply. Is later version of Iron only supported on latest versions of Ubuntu?
