Hello,

Thanks for this new version which works quiet well but still errors by launching:

I've tried Iron v 27 with the lastest catalyst 13.6 beta but it does'nt work well on Xubuntu 12.04, probably because of catalyst which has broken Vsync.

And this in xsession-errors but nothing to do with the tabs:

Crach gmail page after opening gmail chat window (Iron 27 Ubuntu 12.04 gnome 3.4.2 ядро 3.2.0-45). Same trouble was in Iron 25. Iron 27 windows and Chromium 27 linux works fine.

I appear to be having a bit of an issue installing it to Mageia 3:

Code: Select all

[root@myuser ~]# urpmi /home/myuser/Downloads/Iron/iron.rpm
A requested package cannot be installed:
iron-27.0.1500-1.i386 (due to unsatisfied libudev.so.0)
Continue installation anyway? (Y/n) n
[root@myuser ~]# urpmq -i libudev
No package named libudev

Continuing...

Code: Select all

[root@dedanna ~]# urpmq --whatprovides libudev.so.0
No package named libudev.so.0
[root@dedanna ~]#
[root@dedanna ~]# urpmq --whatprovides libudev.so.1
libudev1
[root@dedanna ~]#
[root@dedanna ~]# ln -s libudev.so.1 libudev.so.0
[root@dedanna ~]#
[root@dedanna ~]# urpmi /home/dedanna/Downloads/Iron/iron.rpm
A requested package cannot be installed:
iron-27.0.1500-1.i386 (due to unsatisfied libudev.so.0)
Continue installation anyway? (Y/n) n
Why would Iron depend on an old version of libudev-devel?

Something realy wrong with this version. If I try HTLM5 test page like this one, it's very slow, which was not the case with v. 25:

http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Perfo ... fault.html

And by webGL test is even worse, the acceleration crashes with this page:

http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Graph ... chEffects/

Iron log messages (3 times repeated):

GpuProcessHostUIShim: The GPU process crashed!

Please try to fix it or how to revert to v 25? The .deb in v. 25 is in fact the v. 27!

Iron-Version: 27.0.1500.0 for openSUSE

Post by KaoS »

Downloaded the .rpm the other day. Ran into a dependency issue with bzip2. The installer says it can't find bzip...() (64-bit). I have bzip2 64 bit already in my lib64 directory. I tried to let it install without resolving that dependency hoping the program would be trying to reference the standard issue bzip2 that's already in place. No luck. Doesn't run. And when I tried to suspend I got some kinda weird error loop. Had to kill the power.

So my question is: can I make a symlink that masquarades bzip2 as whatever odd name iron is trying to get at? or what else can I do to get this working. I've always loved Iron ever since it came out, but if I can't get it to work on linux I'm gonna be really bummed :(

I can't seem to open the damn browser. I've tried both tar.gz as .deb.
Using .deb it installs just fine, but when clicking to open, it just doesn't.
Decompressing the tar.gz and manually opening the "iron" gives me following error:
"There is no application installed for shared libraries."
Then it gives me an option to search for suitable software to open this kind of files. If I click yes it gives me a progress bar that gets stuck after 5 seconds, only providind the message:
"Home Folder requires to install software to open files of the following type: shared library.

Any solution available?

I am running Linux Mint 15 Olivia 64-bit.
