New Page about Iron/Chrome Extensions and Themes from SRWare

Post by SRWare »

We offer two new pages for the best Iron/Chrome-Extensions and Themes.
There are already more extensions and themes available than most people think - the problem is that there is no website where they are sorted and categorized in a user-friendly way.
Now we do this job! Site is currently building up and will be soon filled with much more. If you find interesting extensions and themes, please tell us!

Is there any information how to uninstall those extensions?
I've totaly crashed my Iron because of GoCalendar and AniWeather. I have reinstalled it already. Didn't worked.

Delete files from C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Chromium\User Data\Default\Extensions.
Or go to chrome://extensions and click Uninstall.

Hi,

Are these extensions, themes, etc. Google-produced items that are compatible with Iron or are they produced specifically for Iron ? If the former, are there any privacy issues associated with them ? Iron has the reputation, of course, of being more privacy-conscious than Google/Chrome, so I'm just curious about how these add-ons affect privacy.

Thanks !

Hi,
they work mostly with Iron, they are NOT made for Iron. Privacy should not be affected, but that depends on that whats the extension for.

How do I install these extensions? I click the download link, select the desktop as my save location and then "Extensions are not enabled" window pops up.

Also, why is there no download bar at the bottom of the browser window? Only way I can see download progress is by pressing Ctrl+J for Download tab.

Thank you.

SRWare, reference the original google chrome comic pages 28-31

http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/small_30.html

Does anyone quality control extensions/plugins so that anyone using them can be assured they do not break security and the privileges boundaries?

I know it is not your responsibility, and that users really use at their own risk, but just wondering if you know if there are similar checks to extensions for chrome as mozilla do with addons on their official site for firefox.
