strange window appears over the forum page

Thanks for Iron,
I saved the address of this forum. When I click on it I get a window that blocks out how to
see if I need to update my Iron program. Maybe it's me and I need to sign in every time
I want to see if I have the latest version.

click x to close the window
there are some ads, you could install adblockplus extension to block adshot.de

Found "x" to click to get rid of the annoying window.
Would you please be a tad more specific on where, when & how
to get "Adblockplus" and how to install it.
Still running a previous version of Iron which is causing a window problem.
The latest version plays havoc with Gmail.
Contemplating using Internet Explorer 9 instead of Iron.

AdblockPlus doesn't stop the dropdown, only the ad details. Very strange.

you must add a custom filter in adblockplus

adblockplus is an extension for chrome / iron, find it and install it, then add that custom filter

Your advice to install AdBlock and then cook up a script is about as lame as it can get. The problem is your pop up ad that is deliberatly designed to be difficult to remove without loading the crapware you're pushing.
How about this for a solution? Forum DEVs, remove the pop up for the crapware!

It is their source of income, so they have to keep them and bothering us to buy stuff.

you can also block adshot.de using adblock.ini

To see what version you have, simply click on the wrench icon (top right corner), then click on the "About Iron". This will tell you what version you have installed. To download the most current version, hit the downloads page. Save this file to desktop and install it from this location. It installs the same way you installed it the first time. As for that strange window that hovers over your area, simply click "X' to get rid of it. I have the same thing. Nothing to worry about, since you can do away with it. And no, you don't need to sign in every time, only if you want to use the discussion forum.
