How to update the portable Iron?

Hi! Please explain how to update my portable iron? When i did simply extract the new version of portable iron to previous installation, all my settings and add-ons was terminated. Please advice...Thanks.

1.unpack the last zip NOT OVER the old one
2.replace the old files of your Portable Iron with the newer files from the unpacked new iron

but:

3.dont replace: PROFILE folder, extensions folders

should work .. give it a try
