Important lack of Privacy with Iron 15

Post by polo1 »

Hi,

A few time after launching Iron 15 (with extension desactivated), 3 connections are established without doing anything :

- ssl.gstatic .com on port 443
- safebrowsing.cache.I.google .com on port 80
- clients.I.google.com on port 80

What is it ?
Is it due to the new tab page ?
Is it possible to block that using privacy.ini and how ?

Thx to answer.

Use privacy.ini and disable SafeBrowsing.

Thx Boss.

Just disable safebrowsing and it seems to solve the problem.
(No need to use privacy.ini. Is that correct ?)

I don't remember having this pb with previous version in same configuration...

This version seems to be really faster (Amazing results on FishIEtank)

Good work.

Finding any information on this privacy.ini thing is like a really difficult easter egg hunt. Apparently it's been available since version 13 but is it Windows only? Searching the forum only gives me this thread.

Do you have a page that explains it a bit further? Is it basically just a domain blacklist for hardware compatibility checking? Is there anything else it's blocking?
