Cannot get Flash to work

Post by excellor »

Perhaps this is a common question here, but I couldn't find the answer for myself.

I have installed the latest version on Windows 7. However, I am not able to view anything related to Flash. I see a Adobe Shockwave plugin/extension but nothing for Flash.

I do have the latest version of the Flashplayer installed. I'm able to view the Flash in Internet Explorer 9.

I was able to get Flash working on my openSuse box with Iron Linux. I'm trying to do the same for Windows 7.

So far I like this browser quite a bit. I hope I can get this issue resolved.

Thanks

When I type about:plugins in the browser I get this. But I don't think this is what I need for Flash?

Code: Select all

Version:	11.5.9r620
Location:	C:\Windows\system32\Adobe\Director\np32dsw.dll
 	 Disable
MIME types:
MIME type	Description	File extensions
application/x-director	Shockwave Movie

I was able to get this to work by going to the Adobe Website and installing the Flashplayer from there.

You can consider this case closed.

Why is Netscape the only browser my computer will use? Have the netscape people put something into the program that stops your computer for using another browser? Whenever I turn on IE, firefox, safari or opera, the computer refuses to connect to the internet. Is this the only way that netscape can survive?

That's NOT a flash player. Its Adobe Shockwave Player.

If you don't have flash player installed on your other browsers than Internet Explorer.
Here a link:
http://filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_firefox/

You need to download and install Flash player with "Non-IE" Its mean you will use this SRWare Iron browser and other browsers too.
