SRWare Iron and Trusteer Rapport

Post by discs »

Hi,

I have been using SRWare Iron for quite a while now, especially because of its emphasis on privacy. Thank you.

Recently, I installed Trusteer Rapport for use while banking etc (for IP verification, hardened Fraudulent SSL certificates checks and Key/Clipboard/Screen logger protection while doing financial transactions).

On install, Rapport gave a message saying that it would not work with my default browser (meaning SRWare Iron) - although it does support Google Chrome (http://www.trusteer.com/support/supported-platforms).

I wondered if anyone had come across this issue on SRWare - and is there a workaround for this?

Thank you.

Dig through these forums, and look for UA.ini. That is a file that you can put in the Iron install folder, and it will let you emulate whatever browser that your application will support.
Here is one of the threads. >>>http://www.srware.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=662

Here is a UA string I copied from MY Firefox 7. I couldn't find one for Chrome.

Code: Select all

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0
Copy that and paste it in the UA.ini file <<<THAT YOU HAVE TO CREATE>>>> in the Iron install folder.

Also, did you know there is and update to Iron 14 out now? Just thought I'd ask.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies ironuser; (I have now updated to Iron 14.0.850.0 :) ).

After your instructions and links I have done the following to make Rapport work with Iron:

- I created a new UA.ini file in C:\Program Files (x86)\SRWare Iron
- Usinghttp://www.useragentstring.com/pages/Chrome/ I then chose a user agent string for Windows 7 and a Chrome 14 version

- I tried 3 strings (one at a time) in the UA.ini file (restarting the browser each time, and eventually even reinstalling Rapport)

Code: Select all

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/535.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/14.0.815.10913 Safari/535.1
(Explained at : http://www.useragentstring.com/Chrome14 ... _18692.php)

Code: Select all

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/535.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/14.0.812.0 Safari/535.1
I even tried

Code: Select all

 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/535.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/14.0.850.0 Safari/535.1
Unfortunately, Rapport still does not recognise Iron. After reinstallation it still says that my default browser is not supported!

Is there something here I don't understand, or am doing incorrectly?

I would appreciate some help.

Hi

I am having trouble with 'Rapport' and 'SRWare Iron' as well. I need rapport for banking purposes.

Has this problem been solved? If so I would like to know.

Regards to all.

Amen to that! Is it possible for the developers to fix this ASAP?
I choose this browser to do my banking.

Hello,

Unfortunatley, Rapport is not compatible with SRWare Iron. Here are Rapport's supported platforms: http://www.trusteer.com/support/supported-platforms.

For now, we do not have plans to support this browser. Should you need any further assistance using Rapport (on other browsers...) you are more than welcome to contact our 24/7 free technical support team, here: http://www.trusteer.com/support/report-problem.
