How to disable built-in adblock?

Post by Igoreso »

I prefer using extension, so I don't want to use built-in adblock. How to disable it?

The built-in ad block is not as effective as the extensions, although it does do some blocking work.

Suggestion 1: Just leave it as it, and it's a short aid to your Ad block, but it won't be noticeable as much or hardly at all.
Suggestion 2: Got to the adblock.ini and delete everything in the .txt file, leaving it blank, then it won't have any motive to block anything and it won't interfere with your ad block extension.

I was under the impression that the built in adblock is better than the extensions because it stops the code of the ads from loading within pages, whereas the Adblock extension loads the full page but just omits the ads from view.

Is this true how the Adblock extension works?

Sorry for this useless thread because I realized that I can leave ini file empty and it would be ok only after I've created this thread.

AFAIK extensions can't properly block stuff from being downloaded yet. But that doesn't bother me, I'm still using them.
