Thank you for the french traduction but there is a mistake : The "Iron pour Linux: Infos et Téléchargement" link target to "New Iron-Version: 9.0.600.2 Stable for Linux" rather than "New Iron-Version: 11.0.700.2 Stable for Linux"...

YAY .DEB PACKAGES!
Though when I installed it I wasn't able to make it the default browser, which is what the chromewrapper in the .zip is for right? ... but isn't that only needed when not installed from a .deb?
I also couldn't find where it was installed. I normally put it in opt like Chrome.

But yeah, I decided to just use the zip like I normally do. Still, fantastic to have a .deb now!

I was wondering this as well - it would be fantastic to see it update from a repository.
+, my distro doesn't have iron.

Hi,

Nice work ! I've tried Iron and am about to recommend it as a valid Chrome alternative.

However, I noticed it's impossible to run it as root (error message). Is it planned to be allowed in future releases ?

I try to run on Fedora and nothing happens. When in terminal mode I run iron I get "bash: iron: command not found".

In other versions of Linux I just executed the file and it would run. In Fedora it's not recognized as a command. Is it not compatible with Fedora 15?

Thanks

11.0.700.2 won't start on Fedora 15 (at least 64 bit), because it links against libbz2.so.1.0. libbz2 is packaged as bzip2-libs on fedora, but that provides only /lib64/libbz2.so.1 and (currently) libbz2.so.1.0.6.

Workaround for those on F15:
chdir to the directoy where you unzipped iron.
link libbz2 there: $ ln -s /lib64/libbz2.so.1 libbz2.so.1.0
then, to start Iron, extend your library path: $ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=".:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ./iron"

everything works fine from there.

There is a bug with the 12.0.750.0 Windows version and the both 11.0.700.2 Windows and Linux version :

When using Gmail, Iron can't show the "New message" button at the left and the 3 items above.

With an another webkit browser :

I don't know if it is due to iron or webkit engine new version...
