Cookie Setting for Gmail Only (How)?

Post by francajs »

Hi. :)
Could someone tell me how to set the Option for accepting cookies *only* for Gmail?

I mean, I don't want to accept cookies for all the Google sites. Just for Gmail only.
How would you do the private setting in Option? The URL for Gmail begins with "www.google.com"
and "[*.]google.com" would not limit cookies the way I want, right?
I really have no idea. Some advise, please. Thanks!

This is how I handle ALL cookies in Iron.
First COPY the URL you want to be an exception, in this case the gmail page(s). You may have to include Google, but I'm not sure
Then Open the Options under the TOOL, go to Under the Hood and select Content settings, then Cookies.
BLOCK ALL cookies.
Next open the EXCEPTIONS dialog, select ADD and PASTE the site(s) you want to accept in the next dialog box to come up and Select ALLOW in the drop down box, and OK out of that and close the options panel.
IF you need to add another, repeat the process above.

Thanks ironuser, but it does not work...
Iron doesn't recognize the long url as a pattern. (Or am I doing it wrong?)

I also had tried to add "mail.google.com" before but Google re-directs it to the above url that begins with "google com." This is why I was trying to find a way to accept cookies only for Gmail in the first place. :'(

Have you looked at the Vanilla extension for Chrome? It allows you to whitelist cookies and delete all the rest.

I use it and it works well.

 I have to apologize. Mine still work because they were there from a previous build. I am also having problems getting them to work now with this new version. I wish to hell they would leae this crap alone, and quit taking away things on whims! I know it's Google and not Iron, but still....
Looks like the extension is maybe the way to go.
