Help!

Post by Tumlu »

I have SWIron 5.0.3 and I want the latest edition, but I do not want to lose the look or what is open or where I save things etc. So basically I dont want to lose my profile.

Can anyone help. What do I do? Just unpack over the directory?

Yout profile, and it's preferences and the things you need to save are not in the install folder for Iron.
You should be able to install over your current version, and the new version 'should' pick up the existing profile.
BUT! You need to find that profile and back it up! BACK IT UP, BACK IT UP, YES, I said BACK IT UP!! Don't take any chances.
Not knowing what operating system you are using, I can't tell you where the profile is.
If you have WinXP, look in C:\Documents and Settings\<<YOUR-NAME>>\Local Settings\Application Data\Chromium\User Data and there should be a folder named 'DEFAULT'. That is probably your profile.
I don't know where in VISTA and Win7, but it is very similar.
