The title states the problem here. I view schematics and similar files online. SRWare Iron is the only browser which doesn't offer to open the files. Instead it offers to download them, which then are automatically saved to the hard drive. I'd much prefer to be able to just open the file while browsing since it's faster, and I don't have to go back and delete all these unneeded downloaded files.. On this computer I'm using WinXP, and for PDF files I have Adobe Reader X. It's not just PDF files, It does the same with mpg's and other files too.
Any suggestions? Thank you for any help!
Marcus

Hi - thanks for responding. I have no idea what you are talking about? I had Google Chrome installed and it would read PDF files fine. Nothing needed to be done to enable this. I had Firefox, and of course I.E, and again nothing needed to be done.
Where do i access these plug-ins? Once done, will I see the options for enabling?
Thanks again for your time in helping out this newbie!

Re: PDF and other files will download but won't open in brow
put chrome://plugins/
in your URL line, you'll see all your installed plugins, and the status enable/disable
if the PDF entry is disable you must enable it

OK, it WAS enabled. It is working now though. First I disabled it, restarted the computer and Enabled it. It works!mapx wrote:put chrome://plugins/

This may help the other gentleman as well.
Thanks for getting me to look at this!
