I use 'Easy Youtube Video Downloader', their homepage is here:
http://www.yourvideofile.com/

And normally the best place to get it is:
http://www.chromeextensions.org/other/e ... ownloader/

However that website appears to be down as I type this. Maybe check it every couple of days and see if it gets better.

you can follow these steps:

1.install unlocker (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/Unlocker.html)

2.go into:

C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\temp

3.play your youtube video
you'll see in C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\temp (order by last modify) a file like fla*.tmp ;
after the end of the video playing (when the file is complete in temp folder), dont close the iron window !!! (if you close or change the site, the file disapears), right click on the fla*.tmp file, choose unlocker, set on the row with your file and choose copy file.

you can not copy the file with windows explorer (file in use)

4.after copy with unlocker in another folder, you can rename the file with .flv extension
5. use VLC to play it

2. Downloaded Unlocker....... downloads a zip containing 3 files x86, x64, ReadME.........how do I install x86.....coz when I rt click the FLa doesn't give me the option of Unlocker??

Hoping to gear from you,

Used this addon........to save as FLV can't locate it........if saved as MP4 saves as Video play back file format which runs on Klite MP but the file has no associated icon?

Thanks.

One more question..... You tubes when run using SRWrae are saved as FLa.tmp in Temp, in what formats are other audio/video saved in Temp from sites other than You Tubes?

Thanks again.

Windows doesn't decode MP4 files natively I don't think, so the icon won't get a thumbnail... if that's what you meant.

What version did you install? v3.0 has a drop down box to select a list of formats to save as... FLV is the very first option, you shouldn't be able to miss it... MP4 is the higher HD format.

1. Installed version 3.

2. When trying to save as FLV cannot locate the saved file?

3. This version saves a You Tube as MP4 in My Documents.

Thanks.
